About MeAs you can see, my name is Trevor Belshaw. I live in the village of Ruddington in Nottinghamshire. I was born in 1953 in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, but moved to Nottingham after I left School in 1970. I am married to Doreen and have two excellent children in Daniel and Tamsyn. My working life has seen me change careers with alarming regularity. I never could stick to anything for very long. I have worked in a coal mine and made cricket bat handles at a world famous factory. I have also worked as an electrician, refitting shops and superstores all around the country. More recently I worked on a computer help desk for a national PC chain. For the last twelve years I have been working for myself, building, repairing and upgrading computers. I managed to get a City and Guilds award in the subject back in 1995. The urge to write has always been with me. I started and failed to complete writing courses back in the 90s, My shopfitting work meant long hours, sometimes up to 18 a day. It didn't leave much time for creative thought. I went to a couple of writers groups, but the membership in both were very cliquey and the work submitted for review was always harshly recieved, Founder members work was of course, fawned over, no matter how poor or inarticulate the piece actually was. My passions include my dogs and Nottingham Forest Football Club. I do tend to write a lot about my dogs, Molly and Maisie, the best Springer Spaniels in the world. I don't apologise for this, I love them madly and they are a constant source of inspiration. I have just finished my fourth children's book, Peggy Larkin's War. I am now seeking a publisher for it.
